California law authorizes pharmacists to furnish naloxone on their own authority according to a protocol adopted by the Board of Pharmacy in California Code of Regulations, title 16, section 1746.3. The protocol requires pharmacists, before furnishing naloxone, must complete at least one hour of an approved continuing education program specific to the use of naloxone in all routes of administration recognized in the protocol, or an equivalent curriculum-based training program completed in a board-recognized school of pharmacy.

The Board of Pharmacy has approved the training provided in this webinar to meet the protocol requirement. Pharmacists can earn one hour of CE credit for completing the webinar.
